“Good night, Keo,” He said, placing his hat upon his head and grasping his walking stick in his liver-spotted hand.
“Good night, Moamoa,” Keo replied, coming around the counter to assist the old male to the door.
“No, no! I'm alright,” Moamoa insisted grumpily. “If I need help, I'll ask for it.”
Q'razab looked up from her magazine as the old coot departed. As usual, he gave her a very stern glare as he passed, tapping at her shoulder with his knotted fingers.
“And you,” He warned her. “Don't you think about walking through my field on your way back home, hear me?”
“Wouldn't dream of it, sir,” Q'razab promised him insincerely.
He harrumphed in response, shuffling over to the door and walking out into the night, leaving Q'razab the sole patron in the diner.
