Interestingly enough, the majority of my output are pencil drawings. Pencil and paper will always be the fastest way to render an image (until we develop technology that instantly transcribes one's thoughts into matter, I suppose!), and the tools are obviously inexpensive, widely-available and require no training to use. If you can write your name, you can draw with a pencil. Different pencils, paper stocks, and rendering techniques, give pencil drawings a lovely materiality that defies emulation on a digital platform.
